Dr. Craig Lyon Specializes in PATH

Dr. Craig Lyon of Mercy Health System continues to bring innovative, minimally invasive surgery to the forefront of orthopedic surgery in Walworth and McHenry Counties. Already well versed in primary and revision total joint replacement surgery, Dr. Lyon has also received special training in Wright Medical’s minimally invasive total hip replacement known as the PATH, micro-posterior hip replacement.

The PATH micro-posterior approach allows Dr. Lyon to perform a traditional total hip replacement through 2 small incisions, approximately 3 inches and 1 centimeter in length; as opposed to more standard approaches which are usually 8-10 inches in length. The mini incision and special instruments require less muscle and soft tissue involvement, which leads to less pain, less blood loss, and a faster recovery.

To schedule an appointment and learn more about the PATH, micro-posterior total hip replacement, contact Dr. Craig Lyon’s office at 262-245-0535.
